How Long Do You Wish to Live?

Longevity Chart

(The above chart is too big for this webpage.. to see it clearly, please save it to your computer

I believe if you are given a choice, you would choose to live as long as you wish. Anyway, who would wish to die if they had a choice!

I read the article posted by Scott on 6 March 2008: Living Well, Indefinitely + $20 Blogging Challenge with great interest! If you’re interested to read it, please go to this link: http://www.wrevenue.com/2008/03/06/living-well-indefinitely-20-blogging-challenge/ You might even get to earn US$20.00 if you blog about it ;-)

I totally support Longevity Research. If I had the money, I would definitely fund it… well since I don’t have the money, I hope I could do my part by speaking about it and getting people interested in it.

The Bible did say that we were created to live forever… and even after the fall of Adam (the first human), people lived for hundreds of years. We are meant to live forever and  we should believe we could achieve it within our lifetime.

I believe the current self-destructive actions made by some individual and the couldn’t care attitude about saving the Earth by not polluting it is because people believed that they would have died before the Earth becomes too polluted to live in! It’s like a person would take care of his car if he knows he’s going to use the car for the next few years compared to someone who just rent a car for a day. Hence, if we know we’ll be living for a long time like a few centuries, then we would definitely be concerned about the well-being of our planet.

I wish this Longevity Research would kick off as soon as possible so that we’ll never have to worry about death ;-)

The Secrets to Success ;-)

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 12:34 am

What is Success? How can I be Successful in life? I believe many of us have pondered over this question for a long time. In fact, most of us have some idea of how to become successful (i.e. modelling after people we consider to be successful). We had ideas of how to become successful from what we heard or read about somewhere during our life’s journey. However, the fact is that most of us do not action on the successful ideas that we have… Are we just plain lazy or is it that we just needed some encouragement after having failed so many times?

There are two phrases I really like and I believe they could be considered Secrets to Success. They go something like this:

1. As Long as You have not given up Hope, You Will have a Chance at Success!

2. People Blame Circumstances for the Way They Are. To be Successful, Look for the Circumstances You Want. If You Cannot Find Them, Create Them ;-)

First, I would like to say that there is no fixed definition of success. Success is defined differently between different people. It is subjective as it is a personal thing. Which means what makes one person feel successful may make another person feel they’re failing. It is really about how you feel about a situation or outcome. If you are succeeding and can recognise that fact, you would feel happy and content. In order to have lasting success, we should strive to constantly improve ourselves with regards to our goals at different stages of our lives. (We might want to note that a person’s definition of Success changes with time).

Generally, Success means an achievement of an objective/goal. I’ve listed 10 types of success that are very different, but all important in their own way (at different point of our lives, our priority of each type of success listed below changes):

1. Collective Success-the product of effective teamwork.

2. Commercial Success-enterprise growth, profit, reputation.

3. Emotional Success-relationships, self esteem, contentment.

4. Environmental Success-home, garden, saving the planet.

5. Evangelical Success-influencing others, promoting your ideas.

6. Intellectual Success-learning, understanding, challenging.

7. Material Success-money, property (E.g. house, land), cars, jewellery.

8. Physical Success-health, fitness, vitality, appearance.

9. Spiritual Success-sense of purpose, belonging, reason.

10. Time Success-longevity, time management.

We might want to use the above to help us identify which is most important to us currently and help us prioritise and better manage our time and resources to achieving our self-defined Success ;-) Enjoy your journey towards Success!

Why Women Live Longer than Men?

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 11:12 am

Have you ever wondered about this question?

Well, recently, I’ve been told there’s a possibility the reason is due to women giving away their “poison” (anger or problems) to others (as in telling friends about their problems) regularly and thus they don’t hold on to their “poison” and get poisoned like the men do! Logically speaking, it’s not good to hold our anger for too long. It might cause us to explode like a volcano if something triggers us!.. we might even hurt someone when that happens.

Well, I believe most men keep their “poisons” to themselves (partly because of pride or maybe due to the way men are brought up as a child) and that’s on top of physically taking in poisons like nicotine (from cigarettes) and alcohol (over consumption) when they’re faced with problem! Hey guys, please remember that for problems, you just cannot fight fire with fire!- having more problems definitely wouldn’t solve your current problem!

Giving away “poison” is probably the reason why women live longer than men!

So, to all the men out there… you might want to consider giving away your “poison” and not store them all till you need a doctor to take care of them! Cause if that happens, you’ll not just feel discomfort or pain in your body, but also in your finances (spending money consulting doctor)!

P.S. - when you need to give your “poison”, make sure you find someone who won’t store them up, else you might just hurt him! Or you can give your “poison” to a women since they generally won’t store them- just joking :-D

Apologies for missing words..

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 7:13 pm

Dear Friends,

Please accept my apologies for causing you not being able to read some of the words in the website, the last 2 days, due to a wrong sidebar settings (the sidebar overlapped the main webpage!)… This teaches me a lesson about life. Sometimes, we go about our lives without realising that we’ve made a mistake. I think for my mistake here, I might have lost a few visitors.. I hope they, or people in general, would just send me an email to inform me that they’ve found a mistake in my website. So that I could quickly update it. Of course, I’ll be more careful whenever I try out new settings ;-)

I guess people in general are just too busy minding their own lives to be giving others a helping hand. It’s quite sad. I hope we would all encourage ourselves to help others when the opportunity shows up. I believe it would be a start to helping people we met improve, especially for those whom we helped!

I remember a very meaningful story which I’ve heard. It goes like this: a little girl asked her grandfather curiously,”Dear Grandpa, why do U always try to put the Starfishes back to sea when U see them stuck on the seashore? There’re so many Starfishes out at sea, it wouldn’t matter if there’re just these few left stuck on the shore”.

Guess what her Grandpa replied? Well, he replied with a smile, “My dear child, to the Starfishes that I’ve put back to the sea and saved them from dying on the shore, it mattered everything to them!”.. the little girl was so touched, tears welled up in her eyes!

I think this story is very meaningful.. imagine if we’re the one that needed help and someone came forward to lend a hand! We would be so grateful indeed. So please do to others what you would like done to you ;-)

A Baby’s Wisdom ;-)

Dear friends,

Thanks for your continued visits to my website even when I did not have the time to update it… I understand that you’re wondering what “A Baby’s Wisdom” is but somehow, for some reason, didn’t send me an email (tan.moneyonline@gmail.com ) to know more about it… I wish to share “A Baby’s Wisdom” with you today ;-)

Before I reveal it, do enjoy my simple thoughts below:

.

To All Beloved Friends: -

You’re the Lighthouse in the Fog & Storm—My Saviour.

You’re there for Me when I’m Lost.

You’re My Guiding Star in the Deserts of Darkness…

You’re My Hope when I’m Lost…

If You Ever Need Me, I’ll be there for You.

Just Keep Me in Your Living Memory—My Existence.

May the Living GOD Guide & Protect Us Always. AMEN.

.

My Prayer to GOD: -

You’re the Star of My Life, GOD… the Sun

Everlasting Radiance of Energy and Light.

Filled with Omnipotent Power & Warmth.

I’m Ever Willing to be Lost in YOUR Deserts of Darkness…

So that I Could Plant seeds of Grass & Trees…

& Create (yet) another Living

Forest in YOUR Holy Name.

Allow & Bless Me with the Strength, Courage and Endurance to dig a Well of Living Water…

So that I May Bring Life into YOUR Deserts on Earth.

If I Should Ever Walk… In the Deserts of Darkness…

No EVIL would I Fear, ‘cos YOU’ll ALWAYS BE THERE TO LEAD THE WAY.

.

Now, for what you’ve wished for… A Baby’s Wisdom:

Whenever you want to Research/Read/Learn something new, put these two options to your brain:i.                   *Achieve what I want, at the specified time that I want and I’ll give you whatever you want. Or

ii.                 *Give me compelling reasons for not letting me achieve option one—achieving what I want at the specified time that I want. And teach me how to achieve option one at another specified time that I decide.

* - The condition for both options is that we should give our brain full authority to do what it want and need to do during the specified time that we’ve given. This will allow our brain to work both creatively and innovatively to give us what we want.

You’ll be surprised that by using this method and becoming aware that you could have your inner-self talk to you and guide you to achieving your goals, life seems easier. It’s like activating your 6th sense to guide you as you go about your daily life ;-)

Give this A Baby’s Wisdom a try, I believe you’ll surely be pleasantly surprised with the positive thoughts that comes your way in helping you to achieve your goals… Just be sure your goals are SMART (acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-based).

Remember, always think of positive things and things that you know would benefit you and those around you. As the saying goes,”What goes around comes around”. So give to others what you would like to receive. It may be as simple as giving your Care & Concern. As people don’t really care how much you know, but they care how much you care ;-) God Bless!

Something To Think About…

Filed under: Thoughts about Life, WoW!-Words of Wisdom ;-) — Human MECHANIC @ 4:24 pm

Have U heard of these phrases below? They’re quite interesting, definitely something to think about!

 #1

If you want to change the fruit, you must first change the root…

If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible!

 #2

Don’t know what you don’t know

Know what you don’t know

Don’t know what you know

Know what you know

#3

Some opportunities are like this (the door to opportunities require you to take the first step before it’ll be opened for you):

1. When you see an opportunity (e.g. an entrance to a building), you’ve to work towards seizing that opportunity (walk near to the automatic door) before the door would open for you.

2. Even when a door is closed, it might not be locked! So if you really want to enter or exit from a building, just try opening the door and not just assume that it’s locked when it is closed ;-) It applies to our attitude towards achieving a goal we have, we should not impose false restrictions on ourselves. Sometimes, it just requires us to think positive :-)

#4

The Dream of Yesterday is the Hope of Today and the Reality of Tomorrow-Von Braun

#5

The Past Does Not Equate to the Future Unless You Live There… So if what you’re experiencing today is not to your satisfaction, start to change the way you usually do things today and do them with a hope that it’ll result in a better tomorrow ;-)

My Thoughts About Life on Earth?

Filed under: Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 4:30 am

Planet Earth

To me, life on Earth is like we’re on a ‘Holiday Planet’. That’s because we have, to a certain extend, a Freedom of Choice to decide how we spend our time in this ‘Holiday Planet’. The reason why I said this is because while we’re alive, we get to decide on what we want to do and not do (limited by the choices available in the environment we live in, but then, we’re not a tree rooted to the ground! So, in general, we can literally move to another environment that suits us ;-) ). However, once we’re dead, I’m sure this Freedom of Choice would be gone forever! Hence, we should always remember that Time & Tide Waits for No Man, and Tomorrow Might Never Come. Thus, whilst we’re still alive on Earth, we should treasure each and everyday of our lives and try to live it to the fullest-treasure our friends & love ones while we still have the PRESENT (as in ‘a gift of life’ & ‘Today’) ;-)

The other reason why I think it’s like a ‘Holiday Planet’ is due to the fact that we’re only on Earth for a brief period of time (our life-span)-just like when we spend a brief period of time in a foreign land during our holiday-as we’ll (pardon my English) ‘expire’ one day and leave this planet and all that’s in it for GOD knows where?.. For Christians, it’ll be Heaven (if we believe Jesus is our Saviour).

Just think about it for a moment, when we’re on a holiday, the amount of money we have for spending is very important as it’ll determine the type food, lodging, entertainment, etc we could have. Hence, while we’re on this ‘Holiday Planet’, if we do not earn enough, the type of food & lodging for example would vary significantly from those who earn enough or even in excess (hope we could all achieve this) ;-) Our current situation is a reflection of our past decisions or indecisions. It’s the manifestation of our past actions or inactions. However, don’t worry, as ‘The Past Does Not Equate to the Future Unless We Live There.’ As long as we’re still alive, we’ll have the PRESENT to make a difference to all our TOMORROWS ;-)

Hence, it brings me to the conclusion that what we decide to do and not do is very important and should always be taken seriously and personally. Especially when we’re definitely on the receiving end when our errors becomes a life-threatening mistake! (Remember: What Goes Around Comes Around) Thus, we must always remember to be responsible for all our actions and think twice before acting. Else, we might just regret the act!

Here’s something to think about: A Dream Without Action is a Daydream. But an Action Without a Dream (Consideration/Thought) is a Nightmare!
