Words of Wisdom

Beautiful Scenery from the Mountain!

Good Day to You! Below are some words of Wisdom I’ve came across… Hope U find them useful in your journey to Success! ;)

* Make a personal commitment to do what you love and love what you do–today!

* Blame is a neat little device that you can use whenever you don’t want to take responsibility for something in your life. Use it and you’ll avoid all risks and impede your own growth.

* Be the cure. Don’t look outside yourself for it.

* Listen to those inner signals that help you make the right choices–no matter what anyone thinks.

* Learn to find the blessing in pain. Practice observing the pain rather than owning it.

* Trust your intuitive voices and go with them.

* No amount of guilt can ever change history. No amount of guilt can ever change anything.

* No one can create anger or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world.* If prayer is you talking to God, then intuition is God talking to you.

* No one knows enough to be a pessimist.

How to Stay Motivated?

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs & Herzberg’s Motivation-Hygiene Theory

(An article about the above diagram would be posted in this website by mid-March 2008 ;-) )

Well, it can be quite tough to stay motivated if people around us are not motivated… So how do you stay motivated? Here, I’ve 10 suggestions you might want to try out:-

1. Wake up Happy ;-)

2. Use positive self-talk throughout the day-from the time you wake up to bedtime.

3. Look at the bright side when faced with problems-see problems as opportunities.

4. Concentrate your energy and strength, without distraction, on the successful completion of your current and most important project.

5. Keep your cool-Learn to stay relaxed and friendly no matter how much tension you’re under.

6. Find something good in all your personal relationships and put emphasis on the blessings.

7. Think and speak well of your health and of course, take care of your health by kicking away bad habits(that includes procrastination-which is a waste of your life-and of course smoking & excessive drinking)!

8. Expect the best from others but don’t allow yourself to be demotivated if they do not meet your expectations.

9. This week, seek out and talk to someone who is currently doing what you want to do most and doing it well-model after them.

10. Remain optimistic by associating with optimist ;-)

I hope you find them useful.. Should you have any comments, please feel free to send to my email: tan.moneyonline@gmail.com or simply click on the word “Comments” at the bottom. Have a Wonderful Day!

How to Cope with the Fast Pace of Life?

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, WoW!-Words of Wisdom ;-) — Human MECHANIC @ 5:46 am

Dear Friends,

Question 1: Have you ever felt lost with so much information flooding into the World everyday and you just can’t seem to learn all the things you want? (Response is within this article)

Question 2: Have you ever wondered why even after doing so many things each day, you felt like you’ve not done enough? (Response is within this article)

Question 3: Have you ever complained about life being not fair? (Response is within this article)

Question 4: Did it occur to you that Time went by too fast and you couldn’t have enough of it? (Response is within this article)

Question 5: Are people not giving you the recognition you deserve—Expecting a reward for the good things you have done but never seem to get it? (Response is within this article)

Do you think that in reality, when you’ve done a good job, you could expect a good reward? I wish it’s true. Sadly, it seems we’ve found that doing a good job does not entitle us to a good reward or even guarantee us a reward. However, doing a bad job almost definitely meant we would be facing the music (getting punished)! That’s because doing a good job is expected from us, thus there’s nothing special about us if we’ve done a good job. (Just to lighten the mood: Some of us are sometimes hard to please, they become suspicious when others praise them… thinking that people probably didn’t think highly of them or expected them to be stupid that’s why when they’ve done something right, they’re receiving the praises! Well, I believe smart people like you and I know we’re not those people—we’re not so suspicious, right?)

Anyway, I’ve learnt from the international success coach, Anthony Robbins, that those who did a good job probably gets a reward, those who did an excellent job maybe gets a good reward, however, those who did an outstanding job gets all the rewards! So, how do you even start getting yourselves ready to do an outstanding job?.. Well, first, you’ll need to know what you’re good at or inclined to be good at. How about asking yourself what would you like to be good at? A skill, knowledge or ability, something that you wish you could understand more or which you know because of your interest, you would be able to learn faster and once understood, be your asset which could propel you to greater heights? Find out by asking yourself what is something you like doing and could earn you a living as you enjoy doing it. Try to think of something realistic to support yourself (pay the bills) first while planning to enjoy doing what you like, and still earn from it, at a later time.

My Response to the First Question is that it’s impossible for you to learn all the things you want unless you’ve either got a small appetite for the things you want to learn or you’ve a super memory to learn and remember all the things you want! So generally, you should first learn what you need and things that are required of you and not try to learn everything. In that way, you would free up time which you could allocate for important things like resting/maintenance (i.e. taking care of yourself is important if you want to live a long and healthy life) and organizing yourself which includes planning your day and life. Well, there’s this expression that says, “A Plan without Action is a Daydream; Actions without a Plan is a Nightmare!” It’s better for us to have an action that is planned for or at least thought of its consequences.

My Response to Question Two: Doing many things that does not fulfill your needs or what’s required of you would result in you feeling that you’ve not done enough even though you’ve done a lot. Because, it’s not in the quantity of things you do, but in the quality or necessary actions you need to take in order for you to complete what’s required of you. (Getting yourself busy all the time does not mean you are on the path to getting the right things done) So find out what’s important to you and give it priority so that you could get to the point and do what’s important first ;-) [According to Anthony Robbins, everyone has to meet their 6 Human Needs in order to attain Fulfillment in their lives. The 6 Human Needs are: Certainty, Uncertainty/Variety, Significance, Love/Connection, Growth, and Contribution. This would be discussed in more details by mid of March 2008]

My Response to Question Three: There’s only one thing that’s fair in life: Time waits for no man and it passes by at the same speed for everyone. If somehow you felt there is a difference in how fast time flies between people, then you should realize that it’s all in your feelings or emotions! Hence, our reaction to time is dictated by how we feel. Although we can’t actually control the pace of time, it’s good to know we can control our emotions towards the passing of time ;-) So try to learn how to plan your life wisely so that you would be happy all the time and time would pass by easily as you’re enjoying yourself (Try to think positive and believe you could achieve this in time ;-) ).

My Response to Question Four: We only have 24 hours a day, so if we plan to do everything by ourselves, then we’ve planned to fail! There’s this thing called delegation. Try to do things which you’re best at and delegate the rest to those who could do them better. If you’re thinking how could you do that when your job does not allow you to do so, then you’re either working alone or you should start learning about how you could maximize your productivity by engaging the assistance of your colleagues with some interpersonal relationship skills. Generally, try to find a way to be able to excel in what you do best so that you could be effective, efficient and productive. It may not be accomplished within a day, but it’s definitely worthwhile putting it in your plan and working towards it so that you’ll be motivated by knowing you’re on your way to a more rewarding working environment ;-)

My Response to Question Five: Don’t wait for people to show you your recognition by waiting for them to give you a reward for your accomplishments… plan to give yourself a reward when you’ve completed a goal or project so that you’ll always know you’re going to receive a reward for your efforts even if no one else remembers (guess you won’t forget it yourself!) ;-) and of course, remember to reward someone who have helped you (remember, you should try to do for others what you would like them to do for you. Our world is like a mirror—don’t wait for your reflections to show you what you want to see, do what you want to see and let your reflections follow).

Something to think about:

Item #1: Some people make things happen, some watch things happen, while others wonder what has happened-Proverb (It maybe alright to watch things happen, but let’s not allow ourselves to always wonder what has happened—by being aware of our surroundings)

Item #2: Stop trying to fit in when you were born to stand out-Anonymous (Have you ever wondered if you couldn’t fit in to your current situation, there might be a possibility you’re actually born to stand out? Think about it, ;-) )

Item #3:

(A) Don’t know what you don’t know (Worst—don’t know your limits!—blur man!)

(B) Don’t know what you know (Bad—don’t know your capabilities—under achieving man)

(C) Know what you don’t know (Good—know your limits—clever man)

(D) Know what you know (Excellent—know your capabilities—intelligent man)

(C) + (D) = Outstanding—Wise man ;-)

Oh mercy, it’s almost 6.00am!… Time for Breakfast.. haha.. Well, Thanks for reading, I truly appreciate your support. Please feel free to give your comments at tan.moneyonline@gmail.com   ;-)

Words of Wisdom

Sunrise over the Mountains

Good Day to You! Below are some words of Wisdom I’ve came across… Hope U find them useful in your journey to Success! ;)

* In order to make a visualisation a reality in the world of form, you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.

* If you step back far enough, it’s easy to see humanity as one.

* In reality, it’s much easier not to smoke or eat chocolate than to do so. It’s your mind that convinces you otherwise.

* What you see is evidence of what you believe. Believe it and you’ll see it.

* Everything you must have comes to own you. Ironically, when you release it, you start getting more of it.

* All you behaviour results from the thoughts that precede it.

* Forgiveness is an act of self-love.

* If you only believe what you see, then you’re limited to what’s on the surface.

* Whatever the question, love is the answer.

* If you control your thoughts, and your feelings come from your thoughts, then you control your feelings.

A New Day ;-)

Good Day to You! Below are some words of Wisdom I’ve came across… Hope U find them useful in your journey to Success! ;)

* The Best Way to Predict the Future is to Invent It ;-)
* The Past Does Not Equate to the Future Unless You live There!
* Some People see Things as They are and say Why? I see Things that Never were and say Why Not?

(The above two phrases are elaborated on Sun 16 Mar 2008)

* Everything in the Universe flows. You can’t get ahold of water by clutching it. Let your hand relax, though, and then you can experience it.

* Three things clog your soul: negativity, judgement and imbalance.

* The whole Universal system is held together through love, harmony, and cooperation. If you use your thoughts according to these principles, you can transcend anything that gets in your way.

* Perhaps you’ll be surprised to learn that there’s no such thing as a nervous breakdown. People choose to.

* Thoughts, when properly nourished and internalized, will become a reality in your world of form. Thoughts are extremely powerful things.

* Positive thoughts keep you in harmony with the universe.

* We can only give away to others what we have inside ourselves.

* Each time you send love in response to hate, you diffuse the hate.

Happy Birthday Anthony Robbins ;-)

Anthony Robbins

Have you heard of this guy before? Most people affectionately call him Tony. Well, if you haven’t heard of him, you might want to know that today’s his birthday (Born: 29th February 1960) and this happens only once in 4 years (leap years)-so if you do the math, he’ll just be 12 years old instead of 48 (since his birthday only happens once in 4 years) :-D

 Anthony Robbins during his Seminar

Tony’s a handsome giant, standing at 6’7” and as wide as a shed. During his seminars, people press in close to meet him personally, take photos and asking for autographs on their books and audio-visual products. He has a face of a young man, the wisdom of an aged sage and the world-wide fame of a distinguished celebrity!

Now for some background about this incredible guy whom I truly respect & learned a lot from: If you have not read about him, you might think that he must have a nice family who supported him with all the love and necessary education for him to get to where he is today. Well, you might be surprised to know that in his books, he often talks about his mother having several partners and he having several fathers during his upbringing. The Robbins family often did not have much money for a decade and he talked about charity being offered to them on Thanks Giving. He was kicked out of his house at age 17 on Christmas Eve 1977 and faced multiple challenges as he was left to take care of himself afterwards. (I think he probably had more challenges than most of us).

Before his was kicked out, he attended a seminar by Jim Rohn and it gave him the necessary self-motivation to go through his ordeal. Tony worked part-time doing sales so as to support his studies. By 18 years old, he was labelled the “Wonder Kid” and was even written about in the national press and was earning US$10,000 per month (and that was in 1978!) By his late teens he had already found himself studying NLP (Nero Linguistic Programming) with John Grinder, one of the founders of NLP. He did this by just pure determination and by not excepting a no for an answer, so that John finally agreed to show him the skills. Still in his late teens he developed his own successful method and became very popular in helping peoples’ fears and phobias.

But with success came self-destruction and soon after, Anthony Robbins found himself sitting in a bachelor pad, overweight and in debt. He described a friend coming around to his apartment and convincing him that he was wasting his life away at the turning point of his life. Anthony clearly had the tools and skills; he just was choosing not to demand more from himself. From that day his friend advised him, he never looked back. (Determination & action on the skills we learned-this is something we could learn from him).

Anthony’s big break came in Canada, where on a local radio station he challenged that he could cure anyone with a phobia or fear instantly. He was challenged by a local psychologist, who had a patient he had been working on for years and had never been able to cure her. That night on stage at a local hotel, many people had turned up to see this dual between Anthony and the psychologist. So many, that the audience was forced to stand around the walls. The patient had been afraid of snakes and nothing that she had tried in the past had worked. Tony used his skills that he had learnt with NLP and a bit of entertainment too, and sure enough within seconds, this lady was quite happy to have snakes around her. The publicity from this event sent Tony’s career forward at an incredible speed, everyone wanted a piece of Anthony’s knowledge and skills.

Anthony Robbins-Live with Passion!

By age 24, Anthony was a multimillionaire living in a castle above the cliffs of California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. His books became instant best sellers and his motivational tapes were sold over the world and became the best selling motivational tapes ever. Tony was pretty much elevated to superstar status.

He now found himself helping the rich and famous. Names that publicly support Tony’s work are Michael Douglas, Andre Agassi, Quincy Jones and countless more. He has also been associated with 2 presidents, Nelson Mandella and even Princess Diana. Clearly a seriously impressive portfolio! But at his peak, Anthony disappointed his fans by announcing his divorce from his wife of many years Becky. Becky had appeared on many of his tapes, had a book dedicated to her, but what really upset his followers was that his divorce seemed to contradict his teachings in his books and tapes. He had often used his relationship with Becky to show that people are different and that happy relationships can be formed and can be lasting if you follow some of Anthony’s lessons.

Although some people never forgave Tony for these events, most people moved on from this realising that Tony is just as human as everyone else and happiness has to be the major factor of life. Becky apparently is still a friend with Robbins and she still works at one of his companies. Robbins used the lessons from his own divorce, to put into his seminars and books to make him more popular than ever and now with his new wife is as active as he ever was.

Anthony Robbins Seminar

Now in his forties, he sleeps only a few hours a day, has relentless energy and never accepts anything less than the best. Even after his seminars, which often finish at the early hours of the morning, he still goes to work to find out what he could have done better. Of course there are still those who criticize him and what he teaches and even those who think he is a fraud. But you cannot deny that Anthony Robbins has had an extraordinary life, and like him or love him, extremely successful. He love to say “Live with Passion!”

Tony Robbins Motivates U in 20 minutes! <= Click for FREE Video ;-)

Let’s check out a FREE video presentation of Anthony Robbins at one of his Seminars by clicking on the picture above ;-) In the video, he’ll teach you about the 6 Human Needs (Certainty, Uncertainty/Variety, Significant, Love & Connection, Growth & Contribution). I’ve bought he home study programs & attended his live Seminars. They changed my life for the better indeed! ;-)

Ways to Define Your Success

There’re many kinds of Success.. but how do we know when we’re considered successful or on the path to Success? Below, I’ve listed 10 ways to define your Success, check them out:

Change – Nothing stays the same or should it. Plan to make changes in your life and measure every step of the journey. The shorter the steps, the faster you’ll move. So plan to be ready to adapt to changes so that you’ll not be caught off guard when change happens… Are you ready for change?

Comfort – The human body works best when it’s warm, fed and rested. Creating a comfortable home where you feel safe is vital. Well, it’ll be great if you could make your workplace feel comfortable too.. it’ll definitely increase your productivity!… Are you comfortable at home or in your workplace?

Fun – Too many were brought up to see life as a duty and not to be enjoyed. Planning time for fun is as important as anything else. We’re born to live a life, not to just exist! So for goodness sake, even if nobody reward you for your good work, remember to reward yourself. Afterall, you are worth it!… Are you having fun in your life? Did you plan time for fun to relax yourself instead of just spending all your time working?

Giving – Bizarrely the old proverb that it is ‘better to give than to receive’ is true. Make time to help others and enjoy their success too. I believe when they are successful, you’ll also be rewarded one way or another… Are you giving to others what you would like to receive? It does not need to be just money or possessions, it could simply be giving your concern, time and love to those you care about. Especially your parents who brought you up! Don’t wait till it’s too late to show them how much you care! Remember, every passing second in time is a second shorter to show your care. So if you are neglecting them all these while, how about giving them a call right now to tell them you’re thinking of them. I believe they’ll be delighted to hear from you ;-)

Health – Freedom from pain or life-shortening illness is important. If you have poor health, you might define success differently. Many people in the final stages of terminal illness set and achieve goals. However, you should never wait till that time before you start thinking of why you did not take care of your health in the first place! You should always give priority to keeping yourself healthy. Remember, your body is the most important asset. You bring it along with you wherever you go. So if it is not in the best health possible, even if you have lots of money, you might not feel comfortable most of the time!… Are you taking care of your health by not smoking and/or drinking excessively?

Learning – School and university teach you knowledge and skill, but you should never stop learning when you leave. Learning is a great way to excite your imagination, stimulate enthusiasm and develop new interests. Anyway, you’re never too old to learn something new. Any doubts you might have about learning is mostly self-imposed. We should not restrict ourselves from continuous learning. We should make learning our way of life. Remember, the world’s changing fast and we should learn consistanty to better adapt to it… Are you learning from your past mistakes? It’s best to learn from others’ mistakes so that we don’t have to spend time recovering from our own mistakes ;-)

Love – Arguably the most important aspect of success. You might love a partner, your children, your parents, pets or even the view from your office or bedroom window. Without love, life can seem pretty empty or meaningless!… Are you loving yourself by not abusing your own body with smoking and/or drinking excessively? Even if you don’t think about it, loving and taking care of yourself is very important. You don’t want to be a burden to your loved ones by getting sick! So, by taking care of yourselves, you’re also being responsible and dependable. Others will respect you and what you say when they know you are a responsible and dependable person. You would surely be loved more ;-)

Medals – Whilst few of you will in reality be awarded with medals for achievement by your organisation, being recognized for what you do is important to us all. Sometimes simply saying thank you is enough… Are you showing appreciation to those who have helped you as much as you would like others to show appreciation for the help you gave?

Money – It’s where most people start, but in reality, as long as you have enough money, more won’t make you any happier. Actually, the more money you have, the more careful you need to be and the more responsibility you would have as more money will bring you more opportunity to be out there meeting people.. exposing yourself to people who might want to cheat your money! So ensure that you spend your money wisely and responsibly. When people realise they can trust you with their money, the more money making opportunities you would receive… Are you having enough money?

Things – It’s nice to buy things, but perhaps not wise to define your success purely by what you can afford. Some of the most meaningful purchases that will define your success could be as simple as a thank you card from someone you’ve helped. But don’t just wait for others to make the first move. Do for others what you would like them to do for you and you would be surprised life seems to be better than before… Are you doing the right things in order to receive the things you want?

The Secrets to Success ;-)

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 12:34 am

What is Success? How can I be Successful in life? I believe many of us have pondered over this question for a long time. In fact, most of us have some idea of how to become successful (i.e. modelling after people we consider to be successful). We had ideas of how to become successful from what we heard or read about somewhere during our life’s journey. However, the fact is that most of us do not action on the successful ideas that we have… Are we just plain lazy or is it that we just needed some encouragement after having failed so many times?

There are two phrases I really like and I believe they could be considered Secrets to Success. They go something like this:

1. As Long as You have not given up Hope, You Will have a Chance at Success!

2. People Blame Circumstances for the Way They Are. To be Successful, Look for the Circumstances You Want. If You Cannot Find Them, Create Them ;-)

First, I would like to say that there is no fixed definition of success. Success is defined differently between different people. It is subjective as it is a personal thing. Which means what makes one person feel successful may make another person feel they’re failing. It is really about how you feel about a situation or outcome. If you are succeeding and can recognise that fact, you would feel happy and content. In order to have lasting success, we should strive to constantly improve ourselves with regards to our goals at different stages of our lives. (We might want to note that a person’s definition of Success changes with time).

Generally, Success means an achievement of an objective/goal. I’ve listed 10 types of success that are very different, but all important in their own way (at different point of our lives, our priority of each type of success listed below changes):

1. Collective Success-the product of effective teamwork.

2. Commercial Success-enterprise growth, profit, reputation.

3. Emotional Success-relationships, self esteem, contentment.

4. Environmental Success-home, garden, saving the planet.

5. Evangelical Success-influencing others, promoting your ideas.

6. Intellectual Success-learning, understanding, challenging.

7. Material Success-money, property (E.g. house, land), cars, jewellery.

8. Physical Success-health, fitness, vitality, appearance.

9. Spiritual Success-sense of purpose, belonging, reason.

10. Time Success-longevity, time management.

We might want to use the above to help us identify which is most important to us currently and help us prioritise and better manage our time and resources to achieving our self-defined Success ;-) Enjoy your journey towards Success!

Why Women Live Longer than Men?

Filed under: Self-Improvement & Money Online, Thoughts about Life — Human MECHANIC @ 11:12 am

Have you ever wondered about this question?

Well, recently, I’ve been told there’s a possibility the reason is due to women giving away their “poison” (anger or problems) to others (as in telling friends about their problems) regularly and thus they don’t hold on to their “poison” and get poisoned like the men do! Logically speaking, it’s not good to hold our anger for too long. It might cause us to explode like a volcano if something triggers us!.. we might even hurt someone when that happens.

Well, I believe most men keep their “poisons” to themselves (partly because of pride or maybe due to the way men are brought up as a child) and that’s on top of physically taking in poisons like nicotine (from cigarettes) and alcohol (over consumption) when they’re faced with problem! Hey guys, please remember that for problems, you just cannot fight fire with fire!- having more problems definitely wouldn’t solve your current problem!

Giving away “poison” is probably the reason why women live longer than men!

So, to all the men out there… you might want to consider giving away your “poison” and not store them all till you need a doctor to take care of them! Cause if that happens, you’ll not just feel discomfort or pain in your body, but also in your finances (spending money consulting doctor)!

P.S. - when you need to give your “poison”, make sure you find someone who won’t store them up, else you might just hurt him! Or you can give your “poison” to a women since they generally won’t store them- just joking :-D
