A List Can Change Your Life!
Have you ever wondered why some people seemed to achieve incredible fulfilment? Well, I found that it’s because they have listed out clearly their goals in life to help them focus their attention and all their available time and resources!
You’re right to say that we have to be determined to follow through our goals.. because, planning without action is just daydreaming! However, action without planning might result in a nightmare! Hence, it’s always good to think about the results or consequences of our actions so that we could decide whether to act on our thoughts (if they’ll give us positive results) or refrain our actions if they’ll cause us to regret.
Well, we’re already into the 8th week of 2008. Do you remember what you wrote for your new year resolution?.. or did you even bothered to write one, thinking you would not follow it like previous years? No worries, below is a list of suggestions on:-
How to Keep Your Resolutions
1. Write them down.
2. Count the cost.
3. Make them priority.
4. Give them priority.
5. Be specific and practical.
6. Ask someone to keep you accountable.
7. Seek help if you struggle.
8. Break them into steps.
9. Reward yourself for each successful step.
10. Keep your eyes on the goal.
11. Do all you can to make them fun.
12. Pray.
Once your resolution is out, remember to:-
Put Space in Your Schedule
1. STOP - Take a little time every day to think - not just about what you’re doing but also why you’re doing it.
2. PREPARE - Prepare for the wrecks of life. Even when things go wrong, planning ahead can help us pick up the pieces and keep moving forward.
3. ADJUST YOUR ATTITUDE - Focus on the good in a situation.
4. CONCENTRATE - You must discern what your gifts are and what they are not. Say yes to the best, and don’t rise up to everything others want you to do.
5. ENERGIZE - Engage in energy-renewing activities. The difference between space and stress is the difference between your limit and your load. If your load and limit are the same, you need to work on the limit, because sometimes you can’t do much about the load.
I’ve read that the way to success is summarized into these 5 steps:
1. Think rightly
2. Feel deeply
3. Choose wisely
4. Act accordingly (and last but not least)
5. Live intentionally.
I believe you would like to know where I read all these… they are excerpts from a book entitled,”Lists to Live By, For Everything That Really Matters-The Third Collection” Feel free to click on the link to read more about it and get one for yourself
